Written by Dr. Oudhesh Rani Bawa and directed by Vinay Varma and cast by Ratika Sant Keswani.
It showcases the life of the most prominent Urdu poetess of Hyderabad, of the 18th century Mah Laqa Bai Chanda who was to be first woman to have an anthology of her work. Apart from being an excellent poet and dancer and Nizam`s courtesan, she also happened to be an accomplished archer and fought alongside Nizam Ali Khan, Asaf Jah the II in three wars.
First staged at Taramati Baradari as part of Hyderabad Heritage Week on 17 April, 2013. Second show was at Our Sacred Space, Secunderabad on 7 July, 2013.
Mah Laqa Bai was also staged at Ravindra Bharti, Hyderabad, on 27th October, 2017. This was a collabaration between Sutradhar and Department of Language & Culture, Telangana.
